Rahul lashes out against BJP

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday made scathing attack on Trinamool Congress and BJP for their failure to look after the poor.

He was addressing a meeting on Saturday afternoon in support of the alliance.

He said Banerjee had failed to give any direction to the state. “The poor have become poorer under TMC rule,” he said adding the government had failed to meet the aspirations of common people.

Gandhi said the law and order situation in the state had deteriorated and women were not safe. It was even more unfortunate that the state was being ruled by a woman chief minister.

Gandhi who is one of the main architects of Congress-CPI(M) alliance said if voted to power the alliance would look after the interests of common people. There will be industries and the problem of unemployment will be solved.

Criticising Narendra Modi he said the Prime Minister was not ready to listen to the poor. “He listens to the rich only. The farmers are dying because of poverty and Modi has not said a single word.”

He said despite making promises Modi had failed to bring back black money to India.” Whose interest is he is trying to protect? He had allowed a defaulter to leave the country,” he said.

Gandhi reiterated that Modi and Mamata were two sides of the same coin. “Both have deceived common people and they have no right to remain in power,” he said adding the people of West Bengal are conscious and they will give a befitting reply to Trinamool Congress.
