Quiet is the new loud
Kamakshi Khanna, a music composer, singer and song writer launched her debut album Much Mellow at the India Habitat Center in the Capital on December 28. The album featured four original compositions by her, made complete with renowned musicians like Tarana Marwah on the piano, Pranav Pahwa on the guitar, Ishaan Gandhi on drums and Anugrah Pandey on bass.
The first track Carry me Home led to a path of nostalgia, followed by Where Did you go which was an ode to love and loss, whereas the final track Shackles spoke of poignancy to challenge the status quo. However, the tune that left the audience yearning for more was Nobody Else But Me that ushered in a volley of feelings silently screaming of freedom and self-expression.
Attributing her life incidents to be the primary source of inspiration behind her music, Kamakshi expressed that Much Mellow is an ensemble of, “Melodies and fragments of ideas that were inspired by situations I stumbled into in my life. Quiet is the new loud and the feeling that you get when you listen to a simple, mellow tune that speaks to you is large and truly has much too it. Through this evening, we can only hope to give you that feeling and spread warmth this winter through our music.”
