‘Pocket DU’ to make things easier for students seeking admission

Various colleges of Delhi University have developed ‘Pocket DU’, an app, to guide the students through complex details of the ongoing admission procedure.  The app is developed by the students and alumni of the university and the design was developed under the DU’s flagship innovation project.

It is enabled to guide applicants address their queries. From cut-off lists to fee submission and even cancelation of admission — the app is able to provide meantime information. According to the students who designed the app, it is made to beat the admission blues and problems related to it in the university.

“The ‘Pocket DU’ app is an android-based application that helps students from keeping a tab on all the cut-offs to finding cheap hostel accommodations on a single platform,” a member of the team Punit Kumar said, adding: “The app will help students in a number of ways — from finding previous year’s 
question papers to detailed information about all colleges and results.”  

According to ‘Pocket DU app’ team, the application makes it easier for them to understand the process of cut-offs by providing e-shopping like filters and display the relevant cut-off through just a touch of the finger.

Also, the app provides detailed information about the entire library located across DU colleges and campus including availability of books in the library.  Every year thousands of students participate in the admission process of the DU, almost 3.5 lakh applicants try to seek admission in the various colleges of the university.
