PM scared of arresting Sonia Gandhi: Kejriwal

Kejriwal, while addressing an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protest held in Jantar Mantar, alleged that the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi are hand-in-glove in the helicopter scam. The party launched the protest near the Race Course Metro Station demanding PM Modi to take action against Sonia Gandhi for her involvement in the chopper scam.

Taking a dig at the BJP and Congress, Kejriwal questioned BJP’s silence on the issue while accusing Modi of doing favours to Congress leaders, especially to Gandhi family. “Why is the Central government not arresting Sonia Gandhi when she is involved in the AgustaWestland scam — because Modi does not have the courage to arrest her.”

“The Italian company Agusta was involved in corruption and had bribed all the big officials of this country for the deal. No one has been brought to book but our Prime Minister has not moved an inch in the investigations and nobody has been sent to jail,” said Kejriwal.

“It is interesting to note that while the court in Italy could promptly punish the culprits in the helicopter scam, what stops Narendra Modi government to not act against the culprits in India,” he asked. The Prime Minister who came to power promising action against the corrupt is now saving the corrupt. Robert Vadra is a free man and continues with his business as usual and same is with every other corrupt person, he added.

Kejriwal challenged the Prime Minister to bring to the knowledge of the country about the veracity of his sworn affidavits on education. “Modiji doesn’t even dare to ask Soniaji about this scam, we want to ask the PM that we made you our PM to punish the culprits and not to protect them. We want to ask why Sonia Gandhi is not quizzed or put behind the bars,” asked Kejriwal. He further taunted the PM and said: “But, he did conduct raids on my office.”

Reacting over the alleged fake degree row of PM Modi he said: “We have no problem with the qualification of the PM. But we have every issue with a Prime Minister who says lies to the nation.”

On the other hand, thousands of AAP supporters and leaders protested at Jantar Mantar over the VVIP chopper bribery scam. It was attended by other senior party leaders including Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Delhi convener Dilip Pandey. Later the protesters, who were marching to gherao the residences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sonia Gandhi, were arrested at Parliament Street by the police. Senior leaders Kumar Vishwas , Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh, Dilip Pandey, who were arrested by the police, were later released in the evening.

Meanwhile, hours after Kejriwal’s attack, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar took a swipe at him saying he should quit the Chief Minister’s job and join the CBI.
