Picasso brought to life in Delhi

Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working, said Pablo Picasso, the celebrated artist who dominated the world of art in the 20th century. Drawing inspiration from the works of the great master, Sarojini Sinha lets her creative energies flow into her paintings to come up with exquisite pieces of work. Recently, the artist showcased her work in the national capital on 13 and 14 June. In Art within Art, a painting exhibition organised by Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the art connoisseurs in Delhi witnessed the best of her works in her 12th solo exhibition. Director General of Doordarshan, Tripurari Sharan, graced the occasion as the chief guest for the exhibition.

In her latest offering, Sinha, once again, acknowledged her admiration for Pablo Picasso. Her paintings are not a copy of the great master's work, but are inspired by his prolific and magnificent masterpieces, says the artist. In her own way, she pays tributes to the artist who continues to capture the imagination of the world. It's true when they say art is immortal. Sinha's work is a celebration of Picasso's art that rekindles the souls of artists all over the world.

Sinha uses oil and acrylic on canvas as her medium. Her multifaceted work includes a mix of abstract paintings, paintings on culture of India and nature. She has a penchant for bright colors. You wouldn't miss this aspect of her personality, as it manifests it elaborately in her paintings. She is a critically acclaimed artist with over 11 successful art exhibitions in her kitty. She has held many successful solo exhibitions and group shows in India and abroad. Her exhibitions have been held at Vizag, Hyderabad, Hongkong and Istanbul.

Extensively studying the work and life of the greatest artists in India and Europe has given a touch of maturity to her work. Her visits to art capitals such as Paris and Rome have given her ample opportunity to delve deeper into the realm of art to rivet up her audience with her work.
