Peerzada’s friends key to IPL mystery?

Two days after an IPL player, Luke Pomersbach, was arrested for allegedly molesting an American woman, Delhi police is now looking to question two Mumbai-based businessmen friends of the complainant's fiance of Sahil Peerzada.

While recording his statement in the Primus hospital on Sunday, Peerzada told police that Miraz and Moif, two of his friends from Mumbai, were also present in the party and were eyewitnesses to the scuffle.

Peerzada is undergoing treatment after he was allegedly punched by Pomersbach two days ago at ITC Maurya hotel during an after-match party. Reportedly, he had objected when the cricketer started misbehaving with his fiancee Zohal Hamid.

Doctors said Peerzada will be discharged soon. On the basis of Peerzada's statement, Delhi police on Sunday approached Miraz and Moif. 'They are likely to reach Delhi on Monday and will be questioned the same day,' said sources. The investigating officers have already established the presence of Miraz in the party through CCTV footage collected from the hotel.

The officials, however, maintained that they are still trying to contact Miraz and Moif. 'We need to record their statement also. They can give us the version of what happened in the room,' the official said.

Peerzada, a model-turned businessman, told police that he was punched 'three-four times' by the Royal Challengers' team member. Pomersbach was arrested on Friday after Hamid alleged that he molested her and punched Peerzada in the head.

Reportedly, in the CCTV footage, Pomersbach is seen holding a beer bottle in his left hand.

Meanwhile, Hamid is likely to approach the court against Royal Challengers owner Vijay Mallya's son Sidhartha as well, for his tweets casting aspersions on her character.

Hamid had also approached Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) complaining about the tweets on Saturday.

DCW is likely to take up the case on Monday. Sidhartha, director of the Royal Challengers team, set up by his father Vijay Mallya, accused the victim of talking nonsense and went on to allege that 'she was all over me last night and asked for my BBM (blackberry messenger) pin'.

Meanwhile, Pomersbach left Delhi for Mumbai on Sunday after giving an undertaking (of not leaving the country) to the Delhi police. His bail was granted by the court on Saturday.
