PC on Google Hangout: Hope to raise Rs 40,000 cr from stake sale in PSUs

Union finance minister P Chidambaram on Monday said the government was hopeful about raising Rs 40,000 crore from stake sale in public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the financial year beginning 1 April, 2013. In a first, P Chidambaram on Monday responded to citizens’ questions on the Union Budget 2013-14 by joining a multi-party video conference on Google+ Hangout.

‘I hope to collect Rs.40,000 crore from disinvestment next year. The first disinvestment will start in April,’ Chidambaram said in an online chat with common people on issues related to the national budget 2013-14.
