Path labs not adhering to govt price cap

In spite of the Delhi government order to charge maximum Rs 650 for dengue tests, pathological laboratories in the city due to the dengue menace and charging over three times than the one fixed by the Delhi government. 

The charge for testing of platelet count is also up to five times higher in private path labs. The famous Lal Pathlabs is charging Rs 2,100 for dengue test and Rs 250 for platelets test against Rs 600 and Rs 50 fixed by the health department. In the reality tests conducted by <g data-gr-id="15">mediapersons</g>, several 
labs were found charging Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100 for dengue test and Rs 150 to Rs 250 for platelets test. 

“The tests are not possible in the rates fixed by the Delhi government. We will charge our standard price,” said a manager of private path lab in East Delhi. So far, Delhi health department has not devised any mechanism to implement the order.
