One arrested in Patel Nagar attempt to murder case

As narrated by a senior police official, after the 35-year-old property dealer from Patel Nagar, named Vipin Rajput, was shot by three unidentified assailants after a violent altercation on Thursday, police started investigating the case and soon some CCTV footages were availed from a nearby building. In the footages, it was observed that the accused trio ran towards the Faridpur locality after the incident. Police immediately made a 12-member team and launched a house-to-house search operation at Faridpur and nearby localities, informed Alok Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central).

During the search operations, a landlady informed that one of the three youths had rented a room in her premises recently and he had vacated the room on Friday, the day next to the incident. But, his current whereabouts were not known. The police then went through the tenant verification files in the concerned police station. Soon, the suspect was identified by police as Jammal (22).

‘After Jammal was identified, police launched a manhunt and, with the help of the technical surveillance team, he was traced near Sonipat. A team was sent there, which took four days to nab him,’ said Alok. He further said, after interrogating Jammal, the other two accused have also been identified as Shiv Kumar and Jatin Khatri, both residents of Gannaur in Haryana.

Interestingly, the police have found that the two were already arrested by Haryana Police in an attempt to rob the owner of a motor workshop at Gannaur on the day following the Patel Nagar incident, said Kumar.
