One arrested for raping deaf and mute girl

A youth took away a deaf and dumb girl from her residence at Bishnupur in Bankura and allegedly raped her in a nearby field. The incident had triggered tension at Tarjak village after the girl returned home at a distressed condition. On Friday night one Seikh Habul who is a resident of the same village dragged the girl from her house when she was alone in the house. As the victim was deaf and dumb she failed to raise an alarm. The accused took her to a nearby field and allegedly raped her. The elder sister of the victim along with the locals conducted search but failed to find the victim. The next morning the victim returned home with her dress torn and narrated the ordeal to her family members. Police have already arrested the accused Seikh Habul. He was remanded in 14 days judicial custody.
