OMC stocks slip

Shares of oil marketing companies witnessed selling pressure, falling as much as 6 per cent after the government raised excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 a litre.

HPCL tumbled 6.11 per cent to settle at Rs 541.80, while BPCL lost 4.47 per cent to Rs 729.15 at the BSE. Similarly, shares of IOC plunged 4.40 per cent to Rs 346.40.
