Observers raise eyebrows over Misra’s remark

The observers were taken by surprise when they heard CPI(M) state secretary Surya Kanta Misra saying that if the CPI(M) came to power, they would set up factories in Singur, Salboni and Nayachar.

First in Singur, Tata Motors have left the place and set up a new factory in Anand, Gujarat. Chairman of Tata Group Ratan Tata also said that Nano project was one of his biggest mistakes. In Salboni, JSW steel had proposed to set up steel plant during the Left Front rule. In Nayachar, the Left Front had handed over nearly 14,000 acres of land to former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya’s poster boy dubious promoter Prasoon Mukherjee. But he did nothing there and his proposed power plant has turned down by NGT. Now The TMC is planning an Eco Tourism Park there.
