No ineligible person has right to take ration meant for poor people: Raman
Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said that the scheme of providing low-cost food grains to poor people in state will never be dissolved. Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country to empower poor and needy people of state with Right to Food Security and Nutrition Security. No one can take away this right to food security from people. But ineligible people have no right to collect or consume the ration supply meant for poor people.

The chief minister was addressing the massive congregation of farmers at Berla block headquarters of Bemetara district on Monday afternoon. Singh inaugurated and laid foundation of construction works worth nearly Rs 84 crore, including government college building in Berla and divisional superintendence engineer office of Chhattisgarh Power Company in Saja of Saja-Berla area in the district. Singh also commenced the distribution of bonus cheques worth Rs 68.62 lakh to nearly 69,000 farmers of the area for year 2013-14, and extended best wishes to them In his address, chief minister said that state government will never let the lack of funds be the obstacle in the way of development of Saja and Berla area. Mentioning about the state-wide Shala Praveshotsav and Education Quality Improvement Drive, Singh appealed people to send their children to schools. Raman Singh also gave information about the weather-based crop insurance scheme started by state government in all 27 districts of state, in the wake of delayed monsoon. He appealed farmers to take advantage of the scheme.
