Nepalese man arrested with 9 kg hashish

Delhi Police, this year have recovered 36 kilograms of hashish, so far. On Thursday itself, an international drug trafficker was arrested by police with hashish worth Rs 2 crore in the international market.

It is worth noting that the total hashish recovery so far in 2014 is not even one-fourth of the average recovery of the past three years, reveals records of Delhi Police. ‘It is largely because, large quantities of Hashish are nowadays directly channeled to the nation-wide network from the Hashish hubs of India, which includes Manali in Himachal Pradesh,’ said a senior police official.

On Thursday, a person of Nepalese origin, named Kuber Singh Budha (32) was arrested from Rohini in outer Delhi, where he had come to make a deal. Around nine kilogram Hashish was recovered from his possession, which is worth around Rs 2 crore in the international market, said Ashok Chand, additional commissioner of police (Crime).

He further said, Budha had come to Delhi in 2012 and resides at Burari. During interrogations, he told police that he has been into this business since 2010, ever since he went to Manali and met some drug-traffickers who were looking for a person to supply hashish in Delhi.

‘Soon he started procuring hashish from drug traffickers in Nepal and supplied it to the drug peddlers in of Burari and Majnu Ka Tilla, till his arrest,’ the official added.
