NDA govt spent Rs 1,109.53 cr on advertising in 2015-16

The publicity blitzkrieg of any government is a well known fact and the present govt is no exception. Modi govt has spent 1,109.53 crore in 2015-16 on advertising through the Department of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP). In an unstirred question in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of States for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was also asked if the said amount had been spent on the publicity of various flagship schemes or not.

Reportedly, earlier this month a petitioner had sought a record of Rs 160 crore as per the information received in an RTI reply from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
