Ram Madhav chairs party meet in Jammu

Jammu: BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K affairs Ram Madhav on Saturday chaired party meeting in the wake of resignation of two cabinet ministers.
Two BJP ministers Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga on Friday tendered resignations to the state party president Sat Sharma after chief minister Mehbooba Mufti sought sacking of these ministers for their alleged participation in the rally taken out by the Bharat Raksha Manch demanding transfer of Kathua rape and murder case to the CBI.
"Mr Madhav arrived here and chaired a very important meeting in view of political developments between coalition partners PDP-BJP," party sources here said.
They said the national leader had threadbare discussions with the state leadership on various issues.
After the meeting ministers Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga told reporters that they tendered resignations in the interest of the country.
"The issue was so flared at national level that we preferred to resign," said the ministers.
They however, said that they still stand by their words of "conducting the enquiry by the CBI" and the culprits should be punished.
Mr Madhav will also brief media late afternoon here.
