Rahul Gandhi arrives to kick start his 5th leg of Election campaign in Karnataka

Shivamogga (Karnataka): AICC President Rahul Gandhi arrived here to kick start his fifth leg of election campaign in Karnataka ahead of the May 12 election to Legislative Assembly.
Mr Gandhi, who arrived from Delhi and landed in Hubballi in a chartered flight on Tuesday came here by helicopter. He inaugurated the newly constructed District Congress Committee (DCC) building and participated in a road show as part of party's 'Jana Ashirvada' yatra and addressed public meeting.
His two-day itinerary includes tour of Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru and Ramanagar Districts.
Shivamogga is BJP's strong hold and it is home District of BJP's Chef Ministerial candidate and B S Yeddyurappa and Opposition leader in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa. This District has credit of producing three Chief Ministers including Kadidal Manjappa, B S Yeddyurappa and S Bangarappa. The district has witnessed strong fight between Congress and BJP during the earlier elections and to some extent JD(S) has also made inroads with a few of its legislators getting elected in the earlier elections.
His tomorrow's programe include Mr Gandhi visiting Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru to greet Shivakumara Swamiji who turned 111 on Sunday and seek his blessings.
