PSPCL cracks whip on corrupt officers

New Delhi: The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is not taking corruption within its ranks lightly, with continued suspensions and compulsory retirements to officials who are found to be engaging in corrupt practices.

Just recently, the PSPCL compulsorily retired one of its Additional Junior Engineers, Jagroop Singh, posted at the Zirakpur Subdivision. The enforcement team at PSPCL was looking into allegations against Singh when it found that he was guilty of several serious charges of malpractices and was duly placed on suspension before being removed.

In another case, the corporation also suspended a Revenue Accountant, who was found demanding bribes in exchange for not reporting instances of power theft.

The CMD of PSPCL, Baldev Singh Sran has said that the corporation will not tolerate mistreating of customers and will crack the whip on corruption and corrupt officials.
