PM on 2-day tour of UP from today

New Delhi: On the part of his nationwide programme, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on his two-day visit to the eastern Uttar Pradesh, where he is scheduled to visit his constituency Varanasi, Azamgarh and Mirzapur districts on July 14 and 15 and is scheduled to participate in series of programmes.

On Saturday he will lay the foundation stone of the 340 km long Poorvanchal Expressway. This road will connect several important towns of eastern UP, including Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur with Lucknow. This Expressway will further connect Delhi, and to several major towns from Noida in the west, to Ghazipur in the east once it gets completed.

Later this day, he is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of important projects, cumulatively worth over Rs. 900 crores in Varanasi—the Varanasi City Gas Distribution Project, and the Varanasi-Ballia EMU train.

The foundation stone for the Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg will also be laid by PM on that day, along with several projects under the Smart City Mission and Namaami Gange.

Adding, he will lay the foundation stone for an International Convention Centre in Varanasi. At a separate event, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will release a book titled "Meri Kashi," in the presence of PM Modi.

On the following day, the Prime Minister will visit Mirzapur, where he will dedicate the Bansagar Canal project to the Nation. This project will provide a big boost to irrigation in the region and will be greatly beneficial for the farmers of Mirzapur and Allahabad districts of Uttar Pradesh.

On the very programme, PM Modi is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Mirzapur Medical College. Besides, he will inaugurate 108 Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the state and inaugurate a bridge over the River Ganga at Balughat, Chunar, which will facilitate connectivity between Mirzapur and Varanasi.
