G&SR third edition-2019 unveiled

New Delhi: A video conference of North Central Railway headquarters was held with Agra, Allahabad and Jhansi divisions on Tuesday. In the beginning of the video conference, General Manager Rajiv Chaudhry unveiled the General and Subsidiary Rules (G&SR), third edition - 2019 of North Central Railway along with AGM Arun Malik, Principal COM Ravi Valluri and other Principal head of departments of NCR. G&SR is most important document which stipulates operating and safety procedures in train operation.

While the General Rules apply on the entire Indian railways, the Subsidiary Rules pertain to particular Zonal Railway. This document covers duties of all railway staff, supervisors and officers connected with train operations. This manual also covers Signals, Permanent way, Rolling stock etc. G&SR have provision of normal working rules for train operation as well as protocols to be followed in case of abnormal condition, breakdowns and accidents.

In nutshell it is the Bible of Railway as far as train working is concerned and acts as a guiding document for further detailed procedure for each activity connected to working of trains and dealing with emergencies.
