Govt committed to early solution of Naga issue: Rijiju

New Delhi: The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, on Thursday said here that the Union Government was sensitive to the sentiment of Naga people and was committed to an early solution to their issues.
The people of Nagaland have demanded for early resolution of disputes over Naga Accord signed in 2015 and end of insurgency in the state.
He appealed to the people of Nagaland to participate in the democratic process of elections.
Rijiju further assured the people of Nagaland that the Government will implement the solution as soon as it is reached.
He appealed the people of the state to withdraw their declaration to boycott the democratic process.
The Legislative Assembly election are scheduled be held on February 2 to elect members of the 60 constituencies in Nagaland.
Counting of votes is scheduled to take place on March 3.
