General Manager of ER honours 2 employees with Safety Awards

Kolkata: Harindra Rao, General Manager, Eastern Railway honoured two employees with Safety Awards for their diligent work towards ensuring safety in train operations at a high-level meeting on Safety & Punctuality held at ER HQ on Tuesday. Ramkrishna Sarkar, Cabinman, Sealdah Division while performing duty at Madhyampur station in Barasat-Hansnabad section on March 5 noticed a bomb like substance beside the track and immediately reported the matter to the higher officials. Security personnel arrived at the spot and detected the object as a live bomb and immediately removed it from the track. The sincerity and alertness of this Cabinman helped in avoiding an untoward incident. Upendra Paswan, Signal Maintainer, Malda Division, while attending a signal failure in the night of March 27 detected rail fracture on Up line near Malda South Cabin. He immediately informed the matter to the higher officials and took initiatives for repairing the track. His devotion and sincere work helped in avoiding an untoward incident.
