AP CM impresses audience at UN HQs on natural farming in Telugu

New York: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu impressed the audience at UN headquarters by addressing them in Telugu language for two minutes. Thanking the UN delegates on behalf of Telugu speaking people and Indians, the Chief Minister said that AP turned as a hub of natural farming and remained as an ideal to the rest of the world.

He said he promoted technology in the past and now promoting technology and nature together to do wonders.

Giving a presentation on natural farming in UN headquarters, the Chief Minister explained on Mission 2024 to make Andhra Pradesh as India's No I natural farming state involving 60 lakh farmers covering 8 million hectares and make the state as a role model for the world. He said 62 per cent of population are employed in agriculture and related activities. AP has second longest coastline of 974 km and largest producer of fruits, eggs and aquaculture covering horticulture in 1.7 million hectares.

The Chief Minister said his government has been encouraging zero budget natural farming to reduce costs and risks in farming, more

and safe food with nutritious values, reverse migration to

villages and enhance soil health to safeguard our collective future.

Stating that microbial seed coating, bio inoculants, cover crops, mulching, soil aeration and zero chemicals will promote living soil concept, he said a target was set to make villages as a bio villages in five years period.

The Chief Minister said with the help of women self-help groups, community resources persons and technology backbone 6 million farmers will be involved in zero budget natural farming. He said that the zero budget farming will help to reach sustainable development goals.
