Advani renominated as Chairman of Lok Sabha Ethics Committee

New delhi: Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been renominated by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan on Monday as Chiarman of the prestigious Ethics committee.
Advani was Chairman of the same committee last year. During the last one year, he did not call any formal meeting of the committee.
As per the Lok Sabha records, it was in December 2014 that the Ethics Committee had submitted a report to the Lok Sabha on incorporation of rules about procedure and conduct of business in the Lok Sabha such as constitution of an ethics committee, its function and procedure to be followed by the committee and the procedure for making ethics complaint.
The 15-member committee was reconstituted with same the members of Parliament this year too. Neither TMC and CPIM finds any place in this committee. Although with only five-member in the Lok Sabha, the Samajbadi Party has been included this year also.
The Speaker has also reconstituted a committee on the absence of members headed by CPI-M MP P Karunakaran. The committee on government assurance will be chaired by BJP MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The committee on papers will be headed by Shiv Sena MP Chandra kant Khaire.
Dilip Kumar Gandhi will head committee on subordinate legislation, Thambi Durai will be chairperson of private members bill committee.
Meanwhile, no decision has so far been taken for the chairpersons of the MPs' salary and allowance committee. The present Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Yogi Adityanath was chairman of the committee. He has not sent his resignation so far to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Only on Sunday, he had taken oath as MLC of the UP Assembly.
