40 BJP heavyweights to campaign in Tripura

Agartala: As many as 40 top leaders of BJP including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party's national president Amit Shah will campaign in Tripura for next two weeks, BJP leaders said here today.
According to report, Amit Shah will remain in Agartala for a week from Feb 11 continuously to monitor electioneering in the state besides, attending party rallies and road shows across the state till end of the campaign.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to address two rallies at Shantirbazar of South Tripura and Kailashahar of North Tripura on February 8 in his first phase of visit and in second phase he will address the concluding rally of BJP in Agartala on February 13 or 15 followed by a road show.
Besides, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani is likely to participate in a road show along with the sitting MLAs on February 5 next, while Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address an election rally at Pratapgarh on February 7.
Among others, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath are also expected to join the BJP's poll campaigns in state in next week.
Two national general secretaries Ramlal and Ram Madhav and Tripura election in-charge and Finance Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma have arrived in Agartala last night and joined the nomination submission of BJP candidates in West Tripura today.
The BJP state in-charge Sunil Deodhar stated that the party has already put all it's political apparatuses in place to fight against left front in both hill and plain. However, the party is committed to ensure free and fair election this time in Tripura.
The party is persuading on regular basis with election commission of India to erase all illegal names from the voter list, and so far, a large number of such voters were erased from the electoral roll in bordering constituencies but a section of officers are directly helping CPI-M in the manipulation of the electoral rolls, Deodhar added.
