Miffed Congress workers put up posters to protest alliance

Some Congress supporters put up posters at different places in the city and Howrah protesting against the “unofficial” alliance between the party and CPI(M) to fight against Trinamool Congress in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

On Saturday morning posters were found in some parts of the city and places in Howrah including Kadamtala, Shibpur and Howrah AC market.

Soon, the news spread and senior Congress leaders rushed to the spot and gave instructions to bring down the posters. In some places huge hoardings were also put up.

Sources said that a large section of Congress workers had raised their voice against the alliance when they came to know that the senior leaders were going to join hand of the CPI(M).

Despite the difference in opinion the top brass of the party had decided to go for the alliance.

Thus a section of the party workers in the grassroot levels are left with no other option apart from putting up the posters, said a decedent Congress worker.
