Marriage not on the cards for Deepika

There were rumours that Deepika and her rumoured boyfriend and star Ranveer Singh got engaged and were planning to tie the knot.

The Bajirao Mastani actor, who walked as the showstopper for designer Manish Malhotra’s collect at FDCI India Couture Week 2016, said this was the “right opportunity to clarify”.

“I think this is the right opportunity for me to clarify... there is no such plan anytime soon. I am not pregnant, I am not engaged, I am not married. I am not planning to get married anytime soon,” said Deepika.

Talking about the showstopper outfit she was donning, Deepika said, “Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day”. On the work front, Deepika will soon be seen in the international film xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, starring Vin Diesel. 

Though her barely-there appearance in the first teaser-trailer of her Hollywood debut xXx: The Return of Xander Cage may have left fans disappointed but actor Deepika Padukone has assured that there is more to be unveiled in the coming days.

The 1 minute 24 seconds teaser video of the film, which was released yesterday, was dominated by Vin Diesel, Samuel L Jackson and features Deepika wielding a gun and spinning a blade in not more than three shots.

The 30-year-old actor, who was in the capital to attend a fashion show, asked her fans to be patient and not jump to conclusions as there is a lot of time left till the film’s release.“There is more than six months to go. Be patient, just wait and watch. Every few days we will be putting up a new campaign. 

It is also the return of the film after many years, return of Xander Cage (Diesel), and that is what it is. But slowly and slowly more will be unveiled,” Deepika said.

The action film directed by D J Caruso, also stars Donnie Yen, Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev and Rory McCann. It is the third film in the xXx franchise. Earlier films are 2002 movie xXx and xXx: State of the Union released in 2005.

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will hit theatres on January 20, 2017.

On the other hand, Paksitani actor Fawad Khan has expressed his desire to work in a film opposite Deepika Padukone as he feels it would be an “exciting” collaboration.

Fawad, 34, made his Bollywood debut with 2014 film Khoobsurat in which he was paired opposite Sonam Kapoor. He starred in this year’s hit Kapoor & Sons.

The actor is currently shooting Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor.

“I would be very excited to work with Deepika. It would be an amazing experience. I am very excited and enthusiastic about it. 

“It would be the two right words to describe my feelings about our collaboration,” said Fawad, who walked the ramp along with Deepika at designer Manish Malhotra’s couture show.
