Man rapes daughter

A 16-year-old girl, who was being harassed both sexually and physically by her father after her mother left home some years ago, was rescued from her central Delhi’s Prasad Nagar house by a team of the Delhi police on Saturday.
The police has also arrested the victim’s father who has a criminal background and had come out of jail recently. ‘The accused had been sexually assaulting his daughter and was also subjecting her to
unnatural sex. When she refused his advances, he physically assaulted her,’ said a police officer.
While the accused was sent to judicial custody, the victim was produced before the Child Welfare Committee [CWC] that sent her to a rehabilitation centre where she is under going counselling. When the medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual abuse, her father was booked under appropriate sections of Indian Penal Code [IPC].
According to the senior officer, the girl was rescued after a woman, who is said to be the stepmother of the victim, approached the police and requested them to rescue her. The minor girl told the police
that her father subjected her to cruelty and used to assault her both sexually and physically. The only time she could live without fear was when the police arrested his father in a criminal case and he had to stay in jail for some months. He resumed his cruelty after being released from jail, added the officer.
