Man jumps on Metro track

A 40-year-old man jumped in front of Metro train on Sunday evening, but he managed to survive with just a few severe injuries, police said. For over 20 minutes, the train service from Noida City Centre to Dwarka remained interrupted. ‘Asif, a resident of Sadar Bazar, was standing at platform number 2 of R K Ashram Marg Metro station in north Delhi around 6.10 p.m, when he suddenly jumped on the track,’ said a Metro official. The Metro driver applied sudden brake, due to which the man was spared of severe injuries, the official said. Asif was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where his condition is said to be out of danger. Police said no suicide note was recovered from him.
