Man held for killing sister’s live-in partner’s dad

With the arrest of a man, the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Saturday claimed to have solved the murder of a 63-year-old man.

Police said after the incident, accused Sonu Singh (26) had joined the housekeeping department of a
hotel in Karol Bagh. He was arrested from the hotel on July 2, said JCP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
The police said the elderly man, Herald Peter, was murdered in his Vivek Vihar Phase-II residence on June 12. Police said Peter was first strangled, and then, the left side of his chest was pierced with a sharp tool.

The police found that Peter’s son, Gladwin, was in a live-in relationship with Sonu’s sister and all of them, including Peter, lived together.

Police said a month before the incident took place, Sonu  had come to Delhi in search of a job and lived with the Peter family. Sonu went missing after Peter’s death, police said.

Sonu has confessed to <g data-gr-id="29">have</g> killed Peter and told the police that he wanted to kill Gladwin too.  He alleged that Gladwin often beat up his sister in his presence.
