Lightning kills 3, injures 2 in separate incidents

Three persons were killed and two others were injured after being struck by lightning in Raiganj and Balurghat. Police said that Kalo Roy (20) was struck by lightning when she was working at a field at Balirpar village of Raiganj in North Dinajpur. She was declared brought dead after being taken to Raiganj district hospital.

The victim had gone to the field for work when she was hit by lightening. In a separate incident two persons were killed after being hit by lightning at Jessore area of Balurghat in South Dinajpur. Police said that Moloy Mondal was taking his cattle home when the rain started. When he was few yards away from home Mondal was struck by lightning. Two more persons Subhas Sarkar and Mridul Mondal were injured in the incident.
