Kuchipudi dance recital at IITF 2015

Renowned Kuchipudi dance exponent Meenu Thakur and her disciples, the students of Suramya(An Institution of Performing Arts) presented a Kuchipudi dance recital at Shakuntalam Theatre, under the aegis of the India International Trade Fair 2015. The programme started with Ganesh Vandana performed by Meenu Thakur’s senior disciples Dwivedita, Babita, Vidisha and Neha, followed by Jatiswaram, a traditional Kuchipudi item, Kirtanam and Krishna Sabdam. 

The dance drama Samarpan, the saga of the singing bard Mirabai, was choreographed by Meenu Thakur.

The entire story of Mira was enacted on stage in a short span of time. Meenu was ably supported by her disciples, with principal roles enacted by Divya, Ritika, Bhawna and Garima. 

The performers were felicitated by V Meera, General Manager, ITPO, who is herself a Kuchipudi danseuse of repute.
