Woman assaulted by museum employee

Kolkata: A woman was allegedly assaulted and molested by a staff of Indian Museum on Friday. The victim is also an employee of the museum. According to sources, the victim woman is a Group D employee. Her husband also an employee of the museum. He used to hold the post of security officer. Recently, the director of the museum was changed. After new director took over the charge, he changed the security officer.

On Thursday morning, victim reportedly got involved in an altercation with the new security officer over the change of her husband's posting. She reportedly blamed him for her husband's transfer. It is alleged that during altercation the present security officer pushed the woman.

When she tried to confront, accused persons assaulted her with a helmet. She also alleged that the accused person molested her.

Later, she had to go to a hospital for treatment. She lodged a complaint against the accused security officer at the New Market police station. Till now, no arrest have been made. The CCTV footage inside them useum will be checked.
