Trains cancelled due to foot overbridge work

Kolkata: Eastern Railway has announced full and partial cancellation of certain trains and diversion of few others due to dismantling of existing Foot Overbridge at Sealdah station on Saturday/ Sunday.

Bangaon-Sealdah local, Ranaghat-Sealdah local and Naihati-Sealdah local will

be cancelled on Saturday/ Sunday.

This apart, Gede-Sealdah local will short terminate at Kalyani on Saturday as well as Sunday.

The Eastern Railway is extending the platform number 4 A.

The length of the platform will be increased to accommodate trains with 12 bogies.

In a bid to construct Foot overbridge at Karna Subarna station, track maintenance work will be conducted in Salar section.

Trains services will be suspended from 10:30 am to 4 pm between Lalbagh Court and Salar station on Saturday.

However, three passenger Special trains will run from August 23 to September 3 (during 19 days of Traffic and Power Block)

from 11:15 and to 2.15 pm for commissioning of third line between Debipur and Rasulpur in Bandel-Shaktigarh section.

The Howrah-Barddhaman Passenger Special via Dankuni will leave Howrah at 10.30 am and one Howarah-Barddhaman Passenger Special via Bandel will leave Howrah at 2.52 pm from August 23 September 3.

Barddhaman-Howrah Passenger Special via Bandel will leave Barddhaman at 5.30 pm from August 23 September 3.

Every year, Eastern Railway also runs special trains in the suburban section of Sealdah Divsion during Durga

Puja.

The puja special trains run in Sealdah Main line, Sealdah — Bongaon as well as in Sealdah South sections. In 2018, Sealdah division of Eastern Railway experienced a record rush of pandal-hoppers during Durga Puja.
