State to get 5 investigation centres to prevent crimes against women
Kolkata: Five investigation centres including one in Kolkata will be set up for prevention of crime against women.
The decision has been passed in the cabinet meeting held in Nabanna on Tuesday, in which it has also been decided to create 1,220 new posts in different categories for various departments of the state government.
As many as 94 new posts will be created for the five investigation centres. The decision to set up the investigation centres has been taken for better policing that will ensure safety and security of women.
Narendrapur police station will be set up, bifurcating the jurisdiction of Sonarpur police station. Similarly, Palashipara police station will be set up to reduce the jurisdiction of Tehatta police station.
As many as 46 new posts have been created for the new police station.
In Purulia, Tamna police station will be set up, bifurcating the jurisdiction of Purulia Mafatsal and Kenda police stations.
At the same time, a decision has been taken to upgrade the 60-bed Kotalpur Hospital in Bishnupur to 80-bed ones and for this, 15 new posts have been created.
Territory care cancer centres will also come up in Burdwan Medical College and Hospital and Sagar Dutta Hospital. For this, 35 new posts have been created. Twenty new posts have been created for the critical care unit in Frazerganj.
