Smart system to check shortage & wastage of water in trains

Kolkata: As a part of Indian Railway's initiative to boost passengers' amenities for a hassle-free journey, quick watering system has been commissioned at Bhagalpur Coaching Depot of Eastern Railway's Malda Division on September 9. It will also mitigate passengers' complaints regarding shortage of water in train coaches.

High pressure coach watering system has been developed at Bhagalpur station so that a 24-coach train, can be filled up with water in just six minutes and multiple trains can also be filled with water simultaneously.

The water will be supplied to the train coaches through a computerised system called SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).

The quick watering system having powerful motor

and centralised monitoring system with flow metres, can also check exactly how much water has been filled into the coaches, thereby reducing wastage.

This quick watering system has five features that include optimum power consumption, minimum wastage of water, minimum manual interface, flexibility of operations and flexibility of operation in auto and manual mode.
