Rainfall to reduce in both North & South Bengal

Kolkata: The intensity of rainfall in both North and South Bengal will be reduced in the next 24 hours, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre at Alipore on Wednesday. The MeT office also said that temperature in all the South Bengal districts may go up slightly with the humidity level on the higher side. The humidity has remained high despite rains in South Bengal in the past few days. The weather office said that people in various South Bengal districts are likely to experience discomfort due to the high humidity level. It has also been predicted that there may be light rainfall accompanied by lightning in some pockets of South Bengal. On the other hand, the intensity of rainfall will be reduced in all the North Bengal districts from Thursday. It is said that a monsoon axis has formed in a stretch between Malda and Bangladesh, which may bring light rainfall in some districts in North Bengal. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough which had formed over Bay of Bengal has lost strength after moving towards Madhya Pradesh.
