One held for selling ganja to school students

Kolkata: The Narcotics Cell of Kolkata Police has arrested a youth on Monday for allegedly selling ganja to school students.

The accused was arrested in front of a reputed English medium school in Park Street area.According to police, on Monday, police personnel from the Narcotics Cell got a tip-off that a youth was seen selling ganja in Park Street

area.

Working on the information, police on Monday kept a strong vigil in and

around the Park Street. Meanwhile, in the afternoon police came to know that the suspect had arrived in front of the sschool.

Immediately the police team surrounded the suspect identified as Shaikh Rashid Iqbal. During search police recovered 1.5 kg ganja from his possession. During interrogation, Iqbal stated that he used to sell ganja in packets 10 grams for Rs 1,000. Iqbal confessed that he used receive orders over phone. He sold the ganj around schools and colleges of ParkStreet and Park Circus area.
