One held for molesting woman in Metro

Kolkata: A 32-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against a man who allegedly molested her inside a metro coach on Monday.

According to sources, the incident took place on Monday evening.

It is alleged that the complainant boarded the metro train at Dum Dum at 5:28 pm while the accused person boarded the train from Belgachia Metro station at 5:35 pm. The accused sat beside the complainant and harassed her by pushing her and passing lewd comments.

Manoj Dutta, 47, allegedly took photograph of the woman. The woman and her husband with the help of others took the accused to the station master's room at Central Metro Station. He is a resident of Belgachia Road. "A case was registered and investigation is underway," said a police official.

On the basis of written complaint by the woman a case was registered and Manoj was arrested. The mobile phone used to commit the crime was also seized. The accused person was produced before the Lower Division Court on Tuesday for police remand.
