Fourth edition to take place on January 16-17 next year

The fourth edition of Bengal Global Business Summit will take place on January 16 and 17 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre at New Town.

The BGBS dinner which generally takes place just the day before the commencement of the summit will be organised on January 15.

State Commerce, Industry and Finance minister Amit Mitra informed about the date of the fourth edition in Saturday afternoon after declaring the end of third session.
"The officers, secretaries will start their work from tomorrow (Sunday) for the fourth edition of BGBS," Mitra said.

Looking extremely glad with the outcome of summit, which was concluded on Saturday, Mitra said: "We are happy to inform you that the final figure of the investment proposals we received is Rs 235290.03 crore."
"We have successfully conducted the 14 parallel sessions at different halls, where participating countries discussed business interest and took part in B2B meetings," the minister said.

However, the minister believes that Biswa Bangla Convention Centre will be a great venue with the facility able to accommodate 3,000 people at a time. The parallel conference could also happen there.
The minister also said that a Chinese firm has offered to set up traffic management system which they successfully started at Beijing and Philadelphia. It will be a Rs 25,000 crore project. Another Chinese firm wished to manufacture e-Rickshaw. Their investment will be around Rs 1,234 crore.

WBHIDCO will collaborate with a South Korean company for their green city project.Poland and Romania is also interested to invest in the manufacturing sector -- mining machineries."But I am really happy that a German company approached Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with the desire to invest in Bengal. The company Oerlikon Barmag is market leader across the world in manufacturing textile machineries," Mitra said.
