Newborn's body found from KMC waste bin

The body of a newborn was found from a KMC waste bin at Goabagan under the jurisdiction of Burtolla Police Station on Saturday.
At Goabagan, the local resident saw the body of the babyin the waste bin. The body was wrapped with cloth and kept inside the waste bin.
Some local resident along with cleaning staff of KMC spotted the body and informed the matter to the police.

It was early in the morning when a police jeep reached the spot. The police officers took the body to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

Later, a team of investigators reached the spot again. They started to interrogate the local residents about the incident. Most of the local residents denied having any knowledge. Some of them said that the body could be kept in the waste bin late at night.

Recently, tension prevailed at Dhapa area after some local people spotted a new born baby lying inside a bush. The local people rescued the baby boy and took him to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital.

He underwent necessary treatments at the hospital. Police have contacted the Child Welfare Committee in this regard. The baby was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee after his condition improved.
