Mother Dairy targets Rs 10K cr turnover in two years

Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Private Limited, which markets milk, milk products, edible oils, fruits and vegetables primarily in the NCR, is targeting a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore in the next two years.

"Our expected turnover for the year ending March 2017 is Rs 8000 crore. In the next two years, the turnover will be around Rs 10,000 crore", the company's MD S Nagarajan said.
He said that after NCR, the company is targeting areas of the west and east for milk and vegetable procurement.

The company has already started milk procurement in the states of Maharashtra in the west and Bihar in the east.

Launching the 'Dailycious' milk brand in the city on Thursday, he said the name Mother Dairy could not be used as it was being used by another dairy in the state.

"The launch of our 'Dailycious' milk will further strengthen our consumer proposition in Kolkata. The entire product range has been specially crafted to address varied needs for daily consumption, be it for the need of a growing child or for making a cup of tea, coffee or lip-smacking desserts prepared from nolen gur or milk. 'Dailycious' will be available at 3,000 retail outlets in the city initially," Sandeep Ghosh, the business head, said.

Another 100 exclusive convenient stores would be opened in the city. About east, he said that the Dhara edible oil brand was cornering around 40 percent of the market share in the east.
Ghosh said on Thursday that these stores would come up at various places in the city and its adjoining areas where the entire range of products of the company would be available for the customers under one roof. It is expected that around 60 such stores will be set up before Durga Puja this year.
