Mamata is the perfect answer to India's need for a PM with a humane face: Aroop

Kolkata: India needs a Prime Minister who has a humane face and Mamata Banerjee is the most suitable candidate for the post who will stand by the side of farmers, labourers and poor people, said Aroop Biswas, state Youth Services and Sports minister, who is also in charge of the Public Works Department (PWD).

Biswas was speaking at a rally organised by the district Trinamool Congress leaders in Hooghly. It was organised as a preparation rally for Trinamool Congress' grand show at Esplanade on the occasion of Martyrs' Day on July 21.

A large number of supporters participated in the rally, which started at Khadina More area of Chinsurah and ended at Gharar More. District Trinamool Congress president and minister Tapan Dasgupta and another state minister Ashima Patra took part in the rally alongside Biswas.

Senior leaders have said that around 4 lakh people from the district would join the Martyrs' day programme on Saturday.

Trinamool Congress has set a target of winning all the 42 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state. The party feels it will also be able to win all the Parliament seats in the election, scheduled to take place next year.

"The whole country wants to see a Prime Minister who has a humanitarian face and Mamata Banerjee is the best candidate for the job. She thinks about the poor people, farmers and labourers," Biswas maintained.

He also raised questions on the organisational capabilities of the BJP, after a portion of a pandal collapsed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in West Midnapore.

Biswas satirically said that those who are unable to hold a rally of 10,000 people and whose stage collapses, must contest with one Trinamool Congress councillor at a time. Every Trinamool Congress leader has the individual capacity to hold rallies with 10,000 people, the minister stated.
