Former KMC Mayor alleges attack

Former Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Mayor and senior advocate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyy Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya alleged that he was attacked by some miscreants on his way to Goghat's Bhabadighi on Saturday. Bhattacharya was one of the members of 'Save Democracy' team heading towards Bhabadighi, where people allegedly forced to give away their lands for a railway project.

The members of 'Save Democracy' were going there to see the real situation. "Along with some members of Save Democracy and I were attacked by some miscreants. They started to beat us and some of them pelted stones at my car. I never expected such an incident," Bhattacharyya said.
