Fake govt job racket: Two more including primary teacher held

Kolkata: Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station has apprehended two more accused persons in the fake job racket case. Previously, police arrested Mosharof Ali, a retired headmaster of a primary school in this connection. After interrogating Ali, police got information about the duo arrested on late Monday night.

On Wednesday, police informed that after a thorough interrogation, Ali revealed that two more persons are involved in this racket. Among them one is a school teacher. They are the key persons in the racket.

Wasting no time, police started monitoring movements of two accused persons Rama Nanda Chowdhury and Ramen Sinha. On Monday night, police teams raided the houses of the duo in Garia and Boral and secured the arrests.

During a search operation, several incriminating documents like fake appointment letters for the post of assistant primary school teachers, fake appointment letters for the post of assistant teachers for class XI and XII, application forms for the post of clerks and group D staff, biodata of several unemployed youths, stamps of teacher-in-charge of different schools, stamps of School Inspectors (SI), bank related documents, ATM cards and cash worth Rs 91,000. Sources informed that Chowdhury is a primary school teacher in South 24-Parganas. He was suspended a year ago for his fraudulent activities. After being suspended, he engaged himself fully to cheat on unemployed youths. He also created three fake websites identified as www.wbbpts.org, www.wbbgdr.in and westbengal-ssc.com with the help of Sinha.

According to the police, Ali was one of the workers under the duo. They used to promise job seekers that they would use their influence and connection to secure jobs for the applicants. Before publication of any examination results, the alleged fraudsters used to contact the job seekers and tell them to look at the websites which were made by them. On those websites, the status of the job seekers result were shown as 'passed'. As soon as the payment was done, the alleged fraudsters used to stop communication. Investigators suspect more persons are involved in this racket. Some persons from the Education department might also be connected in the crime, sources said.
