Double murder: Married couple found killed, suspicion towards ex-wife

Bodies of a married couple were recovered from a residence at Madarboni village in Bankura district's Onda on Wednesday.

The local residents saw two blood-smeared bodies lying in a pool of blood. They didn't have any clue that how it happened as the couple led a very happy family life.
According to primary investigation on the basis of a complaint from the couple's family, it is being suspected that the killer is the ex-wife of the man who came with his present husband along with some other hired goons to kill the couple. Cops feel it might be some old rivalry which could have led to these killings.

Meanwhile, the investigating officers sent the bodies for post-mortem. "We are waiting for the preliminary report to come in. The investigation is in a premature stage," said a police officer.

Police learnt that Mithu Malgope and his wife Ruma Malgope were sleeping at their bedroom on Tuesday night when the assailants used a ladder to climb up to the window sunshed. Then they stepped onto the roof and broke open the door to enter the house. They hacked the couple to their death and escaped from there.
Police took those bodies for autopsy at Bankura Sammilani Medical College. The investigators learnt that Tinku, the ex-wife of Mithu came with her present husband to kill Mithu and his wife.

Mithu had a dispute with his ex-wife and they were separated for long. Tinku got married with another man. Later, Mithu got married with another woman.

But Tinku had come to Mithu and threatened him to kill for certain issues. Mithu had then driven her out of the house without paying any heed to her threat.

Police suspected that Tinku's husband is actually a criminal. He runs an extortion racket. The investigators started raids to book the accused man and woman.
Investigation was initiated on the basis of complaint lodged by Mithu's family members.
