CM to inaugurate SL Dhanuka Girls' hostel

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate SL Dhanuka Girls' hostel that has come up at Behala on Diamond Harbour Road on Friday.

Mayor Sovan Chatterjee along with two of his Cabinet colleagues Partha Chatterjee (Education) and Suvendu Adhikari (Transport) will be present at the function. The hostel has come up on a 1 acre land and is just one kilometre away from Behala Chowrasta. A G+7 storeyed building has come up covering around 80,000 square feet which will house 400 girls who have come from outside Kolkata and are pursuing professional courses like CA, CS, CFA, ICWA and graduation or higher studies at an affordable rate.

The hostel has spacious, well-lit ventilated fully furnished rooms to accommodate students. There is a modern outsourced kitchen and a well-planned dining room.

There is a library containing course specific books. There are well furnished classrooms with video conferencing facility. There will be shuttle bus services for the borders to the nearest Metro station.

A foolproof security system has been introduced with hi-tech surveillance camera with biometric access. There is a state-of-the-art gymnasium with a yoga centre which will be run by professional women instructors.

In addition to this, there will be a roof-top jogging path. There will be in house medical room and on-call doctor facility along with a full-fledged in house laundry.
