Bomb scare in Malda

Two unclaimed bags spread bomb scare at the Post Office Crossing in Malda on Monday. Later police found the owner of the bag, who claimed that his bags were stolen from a market area. Local residents informed the owner that two bags were kept unclaimed at the Post Office Crossing.

After he reached the spot and identified his bags, cops took him along with his bags to the police station for investigation. Police learnt that Asit Roy, a local resident spotted one of the bags on his motorcycle in front of a tea stall. Although he enquired about the bag, nobody claimed. Meanwhile, the other bag was found a few yards ahead in front of a liquor shop. Amit Saha, the owner of the liquor shop also had no idea about it.

Police came and closed both the shops. The bomb disposal squad was also called in. In the meantime, Debajyoti Ghosh, the owner of the bag, reached the spot and informed police that his bags were stolen. Our Correspondent
