Anupam Hazra showcaused over FB remark on Gandhiji

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress has showcaused party MP Anupam Hazra, for tarnishing the party's image on social media. On February 16, Hazra had posted a remark against Mahatma Gandhi on Facebook. He said that he refuses to call Gandhiji 'Father of the Nation' and that Netaji would have been the best person to hold this title. He further remarked that though every currency note carries Gandhi's portrait, Netaji is present in the heart of every Indian. Reacting to it, Anubrata Mondol, who is the president of the Birbhum unit of Trinamool, said that Hazra did not have any sense of value and such a post on social media was uncalled for. Infuriated over this statement, Hazra posted another remark on Facebook, criticising Mondol for his various activities, which include extortion and muscle flexing. He further commented that it was only the Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, who valued Mondol. Party's Secretary General Partha Chatterjee had cautioned Hazra and finally issued a showcause notice on Friday. He said "such behaviour on the part of any party worker or leader will not be tolerated. His Facebook posts have tarnished the image of the party."
