18th Kolkata edition of Stylefile to be held on Sat
KOLKATA: The 18th edition of Stylefile, Kolkata's eagerly-awaited lifestyle exhibition, will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 'The Old Bungalow,' 7/6 Burdwan Road in Alipore. A galaxy of leading designers, sculptors and painters, jewellers and accessory-makers, will showcase their creations along with promising new names.
Preeti Goenka, co-founder and organiser of the exhibition said: "This year's Stylefile is essentially about celebrating fashion, art and design and instilling innovation and imagination to make our everyday lives inspiring. Each of the products on display at Stylefile is hand-picked and exclusive. The creations often transcend geographical boundaries and distinctions between fashions and art; rendering styles that are quintessentially unique and stunningly elegant."
Sumedha Saraogi, the other co-founder and organiser, said: "We have put in a lot of effort to curate this year's Stylefile with an unprecedented collection of fashion, accessories and art. We also have an interesting assortment in men's fashion. Among the participants, there are stalwarts who are always there with us and at the same time we are having many new designers, as well as a few who are coming back after a long time." There will be the Khanijo collection for men which is about relaxed silhouettes, functional handloom fabrics complemented with classic menswear tailoring. Keeping in sync with the festive spirit this collection includes marigold oranges, lush greens, rustic browns, classic ivories and sunrise yellows. Arjan Dugal's designs will reflect a subtle sartorial sense, pioneering innovations in design.
A central art installation by a very renowned artist will be unveiled on the day of the exhibition. There will also be many smaller art installations adorning the venue. The event will be on from 3 pm to 11 pm.
In the art segment, David Gerstein, internationally-renowned painter and sculptor from Israel, will bring in paintings made out of handmade cut-out steel. Delhi-based Mousumi Biswas will display her realistic paintings and fibre-glass sculpting.
